Thank you for choosing to work with TLC, Find Home Help's premier nanny referral agency. TLC will provide you with the highest quality personal service and attention. Please review the following step-by-step process before filling out your application.
Getting Started
- Complete Parent Application Form. Please be as detailed as possible so that TLC can send you candidates that meet your specific needs and qualifications.
- Agree to SERVICES CONTRACT. The $200 application fee will be charged to your credit card.
- Review Nanny Selection Process Workbook provided by TLC.
- Prepare a written job description.
TLC's Caregiver Search
- Telephone meeting with our placement counselor.
We will discuss your children and their needs, your application, and our procedures. We will also review information and provide practical paperwork on becoming a household employer including interviewing, tax considerations, salary and benefits, employment contracts and guidance on how to maintain a lasting and positive relationship with your nanny.
- TLC will recruit and advertise to find you a nanny.
TLC's ongoing recruiting program is always in motion. We may already have your ideal caregiver in our extensive pool of qualified nannies. TLC also runs ads specific to your family's needs when necessary.
- TLC will interview all candidates.
Both personal and professional issues will be covered. TLC will assess the caregiver's basic knowledge of childcare skills and ability to be a nanny.
- TLC will screen candidates.
At least three childcare references will be checked and the candidates previous employment and education will be verified. (Background checks will be performed at time of placement)
- TLC will provide you with candidates' completed portfolios.
Selecting and Hiring
- Interview candidates.
Use our interviewing questions to help facilitate the interview.
- Select and make an offer to a candidate.
- Negotiate salary and benefits.
Average salary is between $400 and $700 per week for full time and $10-$20 per hour for part time. Benefits typically include at least one week of paid vacation, 2-3 paid sick or personal days, 5-8 paid holidays after personal days, and a percentage of health insurance.
- Complete and return "intent to hire" form to TLC for background checks.
- Complete employment contract.
TLC will provide you with sample contracts.
- Payment & employment agreement must be received before the nanny may begin.
Probationary Period The first 10 weeks are considered a probationary period. During this time, if the nanny or the family is dissatisfied, TLC will continue the search to find a suitable match or we will credit your account 50% of the referral fee toward a future nanny search or towards other services.

The entire process should take between 4 and 6 weeks. You are not obligated to hire any caregiver referred to you.
Fees
- $200 non-refundable application fee
- Referral Fee: 10% of nanny's annual gross compensation
- Full time - minimum of $1500
- Part time - minimum of $1000
